"Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are"
This TED Talk is one of the most popular presentations of all time because it is a very popular topic that is discussed. Amy Cuddy, the presenter, starts the presentation off with a good laugh; she grabs the audience's attention by making them aware of what their body language is in that exact moment. Her research on body language reveals that we can change other people's perceptions - and perhaps even our own - simply by changing body positions.

Within this image are different types of body languages. Different body languages make us believe that how they look is how they are. If we simply change our own chemistry and body language, we will not only feel more confident, our disposition will be presented in a new, confident way as well.
Her excitement about this topic made this a very engaging presentation. She showed us what she thought, yet still bringing in hard facts about this topic. She used the audience as an example of certain body languages, which help people get a better grasp on the topic presented as well.

Death Penalty Fact Sheet
3 Interesting Facts:
- 31 states use the death penalty; 19 do not in the US
- over 75% of the murder victims in cases resulting in an execution were white
- since 1998, the death sentences have decreased drastically (in 98, it was 295 and in 2016, there were 30 death sentences)
For this statistic, see "Death Sentencing" in the middle of this screenshot.
Conclusions:
- Whites are much more likely to be executed than African Americans or other races.
- The cost for executing people is a lot more expensive than housing the criminals in jail.
Question:
If the death sentences have decreased as much as they have since '98, then why are the courts and other authorities pushing to bring the death penalty back at full force?
