#BlackLivesMatter

In class today, we went over the importance of social media and how it has developed over the years. An example used to represent the progress of it was the world-wide campaign "Black Lives Matter." Before social media was as big as it is today, the spread of important news was very slow. Now, if a riot goes on, people are notified immediately. We all discussed what to post on social media and what not to. This has relevance towards "To Kill a Mockingbird" because the plot revolves around a black man being defended by a white lawyer in the 1960's. This was very rare because back then, it wasn't considered "okay" to respect the "colored people" if you were white.
